The Inez is the ultimate bedside draw companion. So despite being gold, why else would we possibly want her? It’s not just for status, the Inez boasts a very energetic and tantalizing buzz.

Lelo say: “The metal, enticing and evocative against the naked skin, offers exciting prospects for users inclined to the sensual utilisation of hot or cold. Her petite frame ensures discreet yet reassuring company, eager to sate daily desires. INEZ is rechargeable and a 2-hour charge provides up to 4 hours of bliss. Whilst this range is the first on the general consumer market of its kind, luxury sex toys have hit the headlines before…..

A press released heralded the toy as: “A lavish vibrator cast in solid platinum, embellished with over 1,000 sparkling white diamonds, royal blue sapphires, lustrous South Sea pearls and the finest pink diamonds on the planet.”
Though, Lelo are not quite going THAT far….yet.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at her.

Pelvic Floor Exercise and Kegel Aids.

Most women at some point or another have experienced slight leaks when sneezing, coughing, laughing or during exercise. Whilst we may joke about it amoungst friends, it can actually prove quite embarrassing at times and do any of us know at which point is it beyond normal?

Our little leaks are as a result of weakened pelvic floor muscles. We all hear the phrase ‘Pelvic Floor’ often during conversation and anyone who has had a baby will have been advised (albeit probably very briefly) by the midwife to work them during pregnancy and after childbirth.

Your pelvic floor muscles run from your pubic bone at the front to the base of your spine at the back. They hold your pelvic organs (uterus, vagina, bowel and bladder) in place. These muscles support the bladder and bowel, and give you control when you urinate. They relax at the same time as the bladder contracts (tightens) to let urine out.

These muscles weaken as you age and this is not exclusive to mothers as many childless women also suffer though childbirth can be an accelerator. Weakened pelvic muscles can cause problems, such as urinary incontinence and reduced sensitivity during sex. There is also a risk of prolapse, where one or more of the pelvic organs bulges into the vagina. While such problems can afflict new mums, even those who show no signs of weak pelvic floor muscles can develop difficulties decades later. Any woman is susceptible post-menopause because the reduced levels of oestrogen slackens the muscles.

Around 30 to 40 per cent of women will suffer a prolapse in their lifetime. An estimated 7m women in the UK suffer (usually without discussing it) from some degree of stress incontinence. In 1998 the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that bladder control problems affect more than 200m people worldwide.

There are home exercises you can undertake to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles for example try sit comfortably and squeeze the muscles 10 to 15 times in a row. Do not hold your breath or tighten your stomach, buttock or thigh muscles at the same time. When you get used to doing pelvic floor exercises, you can try holding each squeeze for a few seconds. Every week, you can add more squeezes, but be careful not to overdo it and always have a rest between sets of squeezes. After a few months, you should start to notice the results. Your incontinence should improve, as well as the sensitivity you experience during sex. You should carry on doing the exercises, even when you notice them starting to work.

If you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant, you can start doing pelvic floor exercises straight away. The exercises will lower your risk of experiencing incontinence after having your baby.

It is a common misconception that the best exercise is to stopping the flow of urine when you are going for a wee. This method is really not a good idea because it can be harmful to the bladder and cause urinary tract infection.

Pelvic floor exercises are often called Kegel exercises after Dr Arnold Kegel, who developed them in 1948.

Nowadays there are a wide variety of variable kegel products on a wide price spectrum on the market, specifically designed to increase muscle tone and thus also aiding increased sensitivity during sex. Let’s take a look at a couple of examples……

What does ‘SEX POSITIVE’ actually mean?

We hear the term ‘Sex Positive’ being banded about all the time but what does it actually mean?

Well, according to The Urban Dictionary, it’s defined as such:

An approach to sex and human sexuality that embraces the full benefits of sexual interraction as healthy and uplifting, based upon the premise that sexual expression is good and healthy and that societal repression or control of the individual’s sex-drive is bad and unhealthy.

With huge scope for interpretation, this can mean many things to many people depending on where your boundaries lie. However, generally speaking, it boils down to: as long as you are having a nice time, it’s healthy and no one is getting hurt (without consent) then leave everyone to get on with it. Of course, without judgement.

But what do we class as healthy? Obviously, everyone has different tastes and different definitions of sexual acts. Bill Clinton didn’t believe that a blow job is a sexual act…and he was running a country!?

Sex positive doesn’t mean you are an insatiable animal, feeding your sex addiction at all times of the day, permanently locked in a deep dark, chain filled, starring in porn for all to see or running through the streets naked.

It is simply a movement to promote health, safety and acceptance. Does it matter if the gay couple over the road have orgies or the same sex married couple, never have sex at all. So your friend is asexual and has no desire whatsoever. Mr Thingemembob has regular threesomes, the local barmaid has a huge sex toy collection or Derek from the darts team has been celebate for 2 years.

Just enjoying it for what it is. Be it with a partner or alone if needed (or desired) There should be no shame or negative attitude to any of your choices so long as everyone involved has given consent.

It’s not just women who may need a little encouragement with expression or confidence, plenty of men suffer a negatve attitude towards sex. Be it due to body confidence, a bad experience with a partner, a tainted past or upbringing.

Gay, straight, transgender, solitary, roleplay, domination, submission, whether you ar Vanilla or Kink… whatever a person’s preference, if it gives you a shudder, guess what? It doesn’t mean it is wrong..

Sexologist Carol Queen sums it up perfectly –  “It’s the cultural philosophy that understands sexuality as a potentially positive force in one’s life, and it can, of course, be contrasted with sex-negativity, which sees sex as problematic, disruptive, dangerous. Sex-positivity allows for and in fact celebrates sexual diversity, differing desires and relationships structures, and individual choices based on consent.”

Exporing your sexuality, owning it, enjoying your body in any way you can, whether with a partner or alone HAS to be a good thing right? Let’s all just accept eachothers choices, needs and desires and get on.

Stay happy, stay positive, stay safe.
